As far as I know Jimmie never did play steel with Bob or during his subsequent time with Tex Williams, Spade Cooley or the Country Gentlemen. His main instruments were tenor banjo and standard guitar. Perhaps, Jesse Morris of the Western Swing Journal might be able to know better as he was in touch quite a bit with Jimmie during the last few years of Jimmie's life. Mike www.swinginwest.com
