I played with Benny at the Arbuckle Ballroom in Davis for years. He still lives in the Davis area and still plays a mean fiddle. He was a true gentleman and a fine musician. I remember Tulsa on a Saturday night. There were several other songs from his album we played: Back Up And Push, Two Fiddles And A Turkey In Texas come to mind. Alas the Ballroom is now shut down. It may re-open but who knows. I played there for 15 years..It was a great gig. I'd drive up to Davis every Sat from Idabel. I remember we'd have a western swing night every year. I got to play my sax with Johnny Gimble, Eugene Gassaway(SP?) and of course Benny. I sure do miss that gig!
