Maurice, I think that Rusty also used a lot of the bands at some of the great venues where he was appearing. I use on the show from time to time cuts from a dance that he did at the world famous Southern Club in Lawton, OK in 1962 and he used their wonderful house band on that. I also have the audio of one of Billy Gray's Fort Worth TV shows of the same era and he is backed by Billy's Nugget band on that one. I have heard that earlier when he and Spud Goodall were part of Tex Ritter's band they had done some gigs on their own. Mike www.swinginwest.com
