I once saw what was called a Presto recording machine. I always wondered if this was the same device used to cut the "Presto Transcriptions" that Bob cut in Oklahoma City. I think the early brodcast and recording work was interesting because it was often achieved with very crude equipment, one microphone, and a lot of manual balancing that could get...well...unusual.
