In an interview for Guitar Player magazine (mid 1970's), Leon said he never made the change to pedals because he didn't want to alter his style (if memory serves). However, when Fender came out with the 1000 Model in the late 1950's, Leon had one of these guitars with "take It Away Leon" across the front. I've seen two photos of him with this instrument, but I don't know if he actually used it or not.
