Jerry Irby was actually a relative of Bob Wills (distant cousin I have been told) and he was in fact a very good songwriter. Bob usually took half the writers credit of any song a band member or relative got him to record. (Just ask Johnny Gimble about his brother Jack's tune 'The End Of The Line') One of Irby's better known songs he had a hit with was his Ernest Tubb sounding 'Drivin' Nails In My Coffin', which Asleep at the Wheel covered back in 1974.
