Re: The end of the line's lyrics

That's a great song written by Johnny Gimble's brother Jack. Johnny recorded it in 1950 on MGM with Bob Wills, and a recent version has the very talented Jason Roberts (Johnny Gimble's relative) of Asleep at the Wheel doing the song on the "Ride With Bob" album. Interestingly, Jason sang the song word-for-word the way Johnny Gimble did, and "scatted" during the song same as Johnny. Here's the lyrics:

True love, it has been until now dear
They tell me that true love is blind,
But right now to me it's as plain as can be,
You've come to the end of the line.

You thought I'd be left broken-hearted
You thought you would leave me way behind
Well I paid my fare, you got more than your share
Get off it's the end of the line.

You rode for half-fare until now dear
But you boarded the wrong bus this time
So a transfer for you, doesn't make me feel blue
You've come to the end of the line.

You thought I'd be left broken-hearted
You thought you would bust this heart of mine
Well I've done had enough, you can pack up your stuff
Get out it's the end of the line.

Do they listen to Western Swing in France?
