Upon further review, it appears that the new 99.5 KXBL is owned by the same company that owns KFAQ (1170 AM, the talk station), and 98.5 KVOO (which in no way resembles the old KVOO that used to be on 1170 AM). So, I've tempered my enthusiasm a bit. I was hoping 99.5 was an entirely new entity that had taken over where KVOO had left off, but it now appears that isn't the case. Maybe it'll still be a good station, though. Basically, it appears that the Journal Broadcast Group just shuffled the formats of all their Tulsa stations. Doesn't make much sense. Mega-corporate radio is a very bad thing.
