Man, I thought this was "Twilight Zone" since I thought everyone quit posting. I'm not really with this "Net" thing yet! Anyhow, I thought I'd add Eldon's take on Luke's Big Springs club. When Bob heard of Luke's trouble, he sent Eldon, who was only a manager and bookkeeper for Bob at the time, to look into things. Luke met Eldon at the club, and said tearfully that thing were bad, and owed everybody. Eldon asked to see the books, and they weren't proper. Then Luke said he had other papers, in three floor safes. If you remember Eldon's laugh, that is what he did telling me the safe were full of IOU's signed by Luke. "Sham" called the "Old Man" and told the grim story, and asked what to do about being nearly 300 G's in the hole. "Bail him out" and set him up was his answer (more laughter from Eldon). All these guys loved Luke despite his ways.
