Just finished reading Jean Boyd's book again. Read it when it first came out. Bought one on Ebay a few weeks ago. She seemed to want to show the direct connection between Jazz & Western Swing. Hated that she just barely mentioned Hoyle Nix in the book. Jody and Larry Nix, after over 50 years are still carrying on the music of Hoyle & Ben Nix thru thier dances today! Outside of the Wills kids, Jody & Larry inherited the biggest part of western swing legacy and are still running with it. Their dances are hard to beat today!
