Brings to mind a story I was told a few years back. When Noel first went to work for Bob, they were playing a date in the L A area. Noel drew a crowd as he was tuning his steel. Lots of questions were being asked with lots comparing him to Leon. Noel was courteous to all and answered all questions as best he could. As he finished up the tuning, he looked up at the crowd and said that Noel was Leon spelled backward and that was about as close as he could get to Leon and laughed! This story was told to me by Katy Brown who is now around 86 years old. She played steel for different Western Swing bands around Los Angelos during and after the war.
