Could someone give me the date that Don died? He was married to my Mom in the fifties and he was my hero. Taught me to hunt and fish and lots more. The last time I saw him was at my sister's house in Glenpool Ok. sometime in the nineties and he apologized for the fact that I had followed him into music. There was no need to apologize for that. I truly loved the man. I remember that he taught me the first off color joke I ever knew and had me tell it to Johnny Lee and the Boys at the big rodeo in Tulsa. I truly miss him and will as long as I live. Does anyone remember the TV show that he had on one of the Tulsa channels around 1958? Was a music variety show. I would also like to know if he is in the Oklahoma music hall of fame? If he isn't he darn sure should be. By the way, he developed his guitar while in the navy. He was in the hospital with TB and taught himself to play the guitar. He took his style from the great guitarist, Charlie Christain. Prior to joining the Navy at the start of WW 11 he was going to Juliard to study concert violin. He was one hell of a fiddler.
